Lavender Infused Honey

IMG_6869.jpg

Let’s make a honey infusion! We chose lavender for it’s gentle and relaxing taste. This honey is wonderful to have on hand at home for buttered toast or your favorite tea, but also as a gift! Just make smaller jars of this honey, pair with a cute teaspoon, and you have a simple and thoughtful gift!

Ingredients

  • Lavender Vitality essential oil

  • locally or sustainably sourced honey - we used clover honey here!

  • an 8 ounce glass jar for honey to be stored in

  • a small saucepan for heating

Instructions

  1. Remove the lid of the glass jar and pour the honey into the jar, leaving an inch of space below the top of the jar.

  2. Warm the honey in a small saucepan over low heat with 1-2 inches of water surrounding the bottom of the jar.

  3. Add 5-7 drops of lavender vitality oil into the jar with the honey (if you want the essence of the lavender taste to be less, you can always add in less drops)

  4. Stir in the lavender well.

  5. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.

  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. Serve at room temperature.

Now you can spread that honey on some of your favorite warm bread or in some calming tea and enjoy!
